3-WEEK SUMMER SESSIONS
The traditional 20-day summer sessions span June and July each year. Approximately 250 campers, ages 5 to 18, fill the cabins and campgrounds for three weeks of fun, fellowship, medical education and lifestyle enhancement. The length and intensity of these sessions are the reasons campers obtain successful diabetes management.
First Session: June 10 – 29, 2018
Second Session: July 1 – 20, 2018
Third Session: July 22 – August 10, 2018
STAY OVER WEEKENDS
We offer two convenient stay over weekends for campers who would like to attend two consecutive 3-week sessions. There is an additional fee for this service. The sessions will consist of plenty of rest, laundry, movies, and more rest. This is especially helpful for campers who live a significant distance away from Camp Sweeney. Of course, parents may pick up their campers between sessions if they choose.
Weekend 1: June 29 – July 1, 2018
Weekend 2: July 20 – 22, 2018
In the spring, Camp Sweeney hosts a one day event called “The Sweeney Experience!” Potential campers and their families are invited to come to Camp Sweeney to spend a day in the life of a Camp Sweeney camper!
Families will have the opportunity to do activities together, tour cabins, and speak to our staff members. The day will conclude with a special concert performed by our own rock band, The Sweeney 5!
The 2018 Sweeney Experience will be held on Saturday, April 21st 9:00AM-10:00PM!
Camp Sweeney offers financial assistance to all families who demonstrate financial need. Each year, we grant over 1 million dollars in financial aid to our campers. Our goal is to never turn away any family who demonstrates financial need.
To apply for financial assistance fill out the financial assistance section on the camper application. Be sure to send in proof of income documentation as listed in that section. Financial aid is available for children who have diabetes or who are at risk of developing diabetes. Financial assistance is not available for non-diabetic campers or additional sessions.
To request more information about financial aid, please contact our registrar, Kara Knight.
